Join us for an open workshop that serves as an introduction to the qualities and ideas developed over the last 15 years of Fighting Monkey research. This is an inclusive event—no restrictions or prerequisites in terms of former experience or background. The workshop is open to anyone interested in human evolution. Participants typically come from various fields and skill levels, but anyone can easily find their place to work and explore.
What to Expect:
You will experience primarily "movement situations"—irregular training methods designed to provoke and increase the adaptive value of your behavioral traits and strategic planning. We will work on complex and often improvised structures to improve movement qualities and increase creative variability.
The goal is to help you understand the underlying principles of human motion and how stress and pressure affect perception, behavior, and actions, as well as how creatively adaptive you are in complex situations.
- Improvisation, Imagination, and Creativity: These elements are essential for problem-solving, which is key to adaptability, longevity, and sustainability.
- Play Games & Expose Yourself to Difficulties: Through playful activities and challenges, we will concentrate on strengthening and developing your partnering skills—essentially, your "communication skills." Partner work brings the precious irregularity of real-life situations, influencing behavior, movement qualities, tempo, and rhythm.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Partnering Work: We will work on coordination, movement situations, and injury prevention, with a focus on strengthening awareness and the whole system.
- Break Patterns & Learn New Ones: The practice will challenge you to question how much you can learn and how open you are to the new while staying well-rooted.
